Every guest of the region Schliersee is charged a visitor´s tax. This is done on behalf of the municipal corporation. This payment is used for e.g. maintaining municipal health and Spa facilities  and is calculated depending on the number of overnight stays. Within the first 24 hours after arriving at the hotel or the guest house, the registration has to be preceded by the guest or the host.

The visitor´s tax amounts 2.00 Euro per overnight stay for adults after reaching the age of 18 and 1.00 Euro per overnight stay for children from 6 years of age. All guests who are visiting Schliersee and staying overnight for business reasons, meetings , conferences or seminars only pay 1.00 Euro. Children up to 6 years, severely handicapped persons carrying a ID card and all noted accompanying persons inside the identification card are free of charge.

As soon as you have arrived at your hostel, you will receive a Guestcard. The benefits of the Schliersee Guestcard are free usage of all RVO-Busses within the administrative district of Miesbach, the Wendelstein-Ringline during summer and free or reduced entrance to museums, swimming baths and other facilities or events in Schliersee, Fischbachau and Bayrischzell.

You can choose several journey possibilities to travel to the Schliersee region. You can travel by car, train,  airplane and taxi.

Travelling by car:
Drive along the Autobahn A8 Munich-Salzburg and exit at Weyarn. Then follow the state road to Miesbach and then drive further on the state road B 307 via Hausham, Schliersee and Fischhausen-Neuhaus. The whole route from Munich to Schliersee is 56 kilometres long.

Travelling by train:
Hop onto one of the trains of the „Bayerische Oberlandbahn“ departing hourly from  the main station in Munich. The trip will take you about one hour and before arriving in Schliersee, you will drive by Holzkirchen. At the main station in Schliersee and in Fischhausen-Neuhaus  you will find a bus stop. Here you can buy a bus ticket for the RVO-Bus and drive to another destination nearby, e.g. Spitzingsee. The latest departure times of the  Bayerische Oberlandbahn you can find at www.rvo-bus.de.

Travelling by aeroplane:
If you are planning to travel by plane to Munich and then want to continue your journey to Schliersee, you can rent a car at the airport. You also can book a taxi. Please order a  taxi from a local taxi company in Schliersee  in  written form. A taxi driver will pick you up and drive you to your hotel. If you prefer to travel by train, please go to the S-Bahn-Station at the airport in Munich and get on the overground train S1 or S8. Get off at the main railway station in Munich and then get on one of the trains of the Bayerische Oberlandbahn. This train will take you directly to Schliersee and Fischhausen-Neuhaus. From there you can take the bus number 9562 (RVO) and travel to Spitzingsee.  

Car:
Autobahn Munich - Salburg A8, Exit at Weyarn  and drive towards Miesbach (B307), then further on from Hausham to Schliersee and Fischhausen - Neuhaus.  (Munich - Schliersee = 56 km)

Train:
At the main railway station in Munich modern local trains of the Bayerische Oberlandbahn leave every hour. Within one hour you will travel via Holzkirchen to Schliersee.

Aeroplane:
Hop onto the overground train S1 or S8 to the main railway station in Munich and then take a train of the Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB) to Schliersee.
